SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS



ANNOUNCEMENT & JURISDICTION

The meeting will be known as Victorian Supercruz (Vic Supercruz), and will be held under these Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations which may be issued. Any debate as to their interpretation shall be determined by Vic Supercruz personnel on the day in consultation with the Meeting Director if necessary.

PROMOTERS & ORGANISERS

The Promoters and organizers shall be Vic Supercruz, PO Box 2946, Rowville, Vic, 3178. 0434 940 209 (Dean) or 0405 163 638 (John).  The Meeting Director will be Dean Arundelland John Tikfessis  

OPENING AND CLOSING OF ENTRIES

Entries shall open on MONDAY 16th July 2007 and close THURSDAY 24th January 2008

VENUE

The meeting will be held on the Calder Park Raceway, ¼ mile bitumen, minimum width is 9m, and located at Calder Park 25km northwest of Melbourne on the Calder Freeway.  

SPEED LIMIT
Exceeding 15kph anywhere within the complex (exception drag strip) is strictly prohibited.  Offenders will be disqualified from future events. Burnouts trials or practice runs with in the Raceway property other than the designed start line and drag Racing area is strictly prohibited.

CREDENTIALS
All Competitors and Crew will need to report to the Credentials office for wristbands, etc, situated on the left hand side of the venue prior to entering the front gate.  The Credentials office will be open from 6.30am Saturday 26 & 27th January 2008 – ALL Competitors and passengers for cruzing must report to Credentials, once they have signed the Indemnity they will be issued with wristbands for the venue and race track. 

TRAILERS

Fully enclosed workshop style trailers and purpose built ramp trucks will be permitted into the pit area at the Track Management’s discretion. All other vehicles and trailers must be parked in the designated parking areas as directed by raceway staff.

WARM-UP PROCEDURE

All vehicles while conducting a warm-up procedure MUST have Driver/Rider or crew member in Driver/Rider position appropriately attired in protective clothing.

DRIVER CHANGE

If after the publication of the programme a change of driver or relief driver other than the one nominated on the entry form is required, the consent of the Chief Scrutineer must be obtained.

CREW MEMBERS (UNDER14)
Children under 14 years of age whose parents are competing are not permitted past the “Demarcation Line” unless they are in a tender vehicle.  Any competitor found with children under 14 out of a tender vehicle in restricted areas outside of authorised.

PASSES
Passes can be collected from the Credential’s Office.   Credential Office opening hours will be printed in the Further Regulations.

ROTARY
All rotary engined vehicles are required to use and effective muffler.

INTOXICATING LIQUOR/DRUGS
Competitors, Pit Crew and officials must not consume alcoholic beverages or drugs during the meeting or during the eight (8) hour period preceding the advertised starting of qualifying. 

BRIEFING
Drivers shall be briefed approximately 15 minutes before the commencement and attendance at such briefing shall be compulsory.  The times and venue will be advised in the Further Regulations.

ENTRY FEE
All Fees as stated are GST inclusive.
The entry fee for the meeting shall be as stated on the Official Entry Form.  Entry forms must be completed in full, accompanied by the entry fee and lodged with the Secretary of the Event.   Such fee shall not be refundable.

SCRUTINY OF VEHICLES
All vehicles must be presented to the scrutineers for examination at start of the days proceeding and at any time as the Chief Scrutineer may direct.  A detailed check will be conducted on your vehicle.  All cars reporting to scrutineering should be race ready with all items removed from the boot. 

TRACK SIDE PIT AREA & PROHIBITED AREAS
Only such persons and vehicles as may in the opinion of the Promoters, are necessary or essential for the conduct of the Meeting shall be permitted inside the safety-fenced area, including the pre-grid area.  Persons under the age of sixteen years are not permitted on the start line. The Trackside Pits have a working lane and a through lane.  Speed in pit lane should not exceed 40kph in the interest of pit-crew safety.  An official will control re-entry to the circuit.

CROSSING THE TRACK
Authorised personnel only will be permitted in the infield area.  There will be no crossing the track, nor when cars are racing or practising on the track.  Any driver or pit crew breaching this regulation may be responsible for the exclusion of the relevant driver from the event, without prejudice to any further penalty deemed appropriate.

FUEL
JFP 98 Racing Unleaded, JFP 100 20 Litre drums, Shell Premium Unleaded and Av Gas are available from the fuel pumps at the circuit.  Samples of the available fuels may be purchased from the Circuit during normal office hours.   The refuelling of vehicles in any area other than Pit Lane or the Fuel Depot is PROHIBITED, as is the storage of 200 litre fuel drums on the Calder Park Raceway. Fuel purchase books required for Av Gas. Fuel purchase books are available at Calder Park.  No refuelling is permitted in garages.  Each Pit bay may only store two (2) x 20 Litre drums of fuel at any time.

GARAGES
Lock up Garages with Power are available for hire for $195 Inc GST to competitors.  Competitors are advised to indicate their wish for a garage with the entry form, as there are limited numbers available.  Garage allocation will be on a first come first serve basisNo telephone bookings for garages will be accepted.  No smoking, naked flames or barbecues are permitted in the garagesAs an OH&S issue reversing of cars into garages can only be done with the assistance of a crew member ensuring that the area is clear of all personnel.

TRACTION COMPOUND
The use of Traction Compounds of any type by competitors is not permitted.

ABANDONMENT OR POSTPONEMENT OF MEETING

The Promoter reserves the right to abandon, cancel or postpone the meeting due (a) lack of entries (less than 50% of grid density); or (b) reasons for safety or force majeure

ENTRIES
The number of entries accepted for the meeting will be restricted to Vic Supercruz’s discursions in each event.

NON –ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES
Vic Supercruz reserves the right to refuse any entry and no reason need be given. 

NUMBERS
Tender vehicles must have the vehicle numbers on the windscreen on the passenger’s side. 

PUBLIC RELATIONS OBLIGATIONS
By entering the event, the entrant and driver/rider agree to make themselves available to any reasonable request of the Promoter during the event for any press or media exposure of Public Relations activities and the vehicle’s photographs used as required.

AWARDS
All prize money will be posted out within 30 days of the event. If the event is not run in full then prize money is not payable.

DOGS
No dogs or pets are permitted at the racetrack on race day.

MARQUEES
No pegs are to be driven into the bitumen.

BANNED TRANSPORT
The following types of transport are banned at Calder Park Raceway.  Scooters of any type. Skateboards, Motorized scooters, Motorised Skateboards, Monkey Bikes, Bicycles by all competitors and crew and their children.  Support vehicles such as Race car Transporters and Tow vehicles are the only vehicles allowed into the venue and these vehicles must be road registered

VEHICLE CHECKS PRIOR TO ENTERING / COMPETING

  1. All drivers a required to have a ZERO blood alcohol level at all times whilst competing.
  2. Vehicle must undergo inspection. This is all vehicles except show n shine ONLY be prepared.
  3. Vehicles must be roadworthy (No Registration needed)
  4. Entrant window stickers to be placed on vehicle and NOT removed until closure of event on Sunday.
  5. No unreasonable body damage to vehicle, or holes in firewall or untidy paintwork, or structural rust.
  6. No fuel, oil or brake LEAKS. All brake and fuel lines must be safe distance from exhaust.
  7. Brake lights MUST work; seat belts must be in good order including rear belts if taking passengers.
  8. If supercharged, all belts MUST be covered, except where agreed by the Promoter or Scrutineer.
  9. A 360 degree tail shaft loop must be fitted unless vehicle has a 2 piece tail shaft.
  10. Remove anything that may fall off, eg hubcaps, wheel trims etc.
  11. All fittings must be secured.
  12. If using retreads in Burnout comp, you automatically accept responsibility for your own vehicle damage.
  13. Tyres must be in good condition
  14. Vehicles may be unregistered, but must pass a vehicle inspection.
  15. Motorcycles are NOT eligible to enter event.


GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS:

  1. In the event of any disagreement on whether your vehicle meets the standards the final decision will rest with the Chief Scrutineer who will decide if your vehicle is safe to race. Remember at all times we are only looking after your safety.
  2. There will be a one strike policy. If you are deemed to be breaking any rules, regulations or driving in a dangerous manner you will be pulled off the track. You will have half of your entrant sticker removed and another driving briefing. A second strike will result in being asked to leave Calder Park raceway.
  3. If the officials see fit at any time, you may be asked to leave Calder Park raceway without any warnings.
  4. Long sleeve shirts, pants and closed shoes must be worn during burnouts, drag racing and the Supercruz super sessions at all times.
  5. No thongs or sandals allowed, shoes must be covered in.
  6. An approved helmet must be worn for the burnouts, drag racing and super cruz super sessions.
  7. All drivers must have a ZERO blood Alcohol Level. Officials can perform a Breath Test.
  8. All vehicles require the following items:

• Radiator overflow bottles
• Accelerator return springs
• Batteries must be securely clamped
• Appropriate braking systems
• Appropriate steering systems
• Plugged holes in firewall
• No loose items inside the driver/passenger compartments. All other items must be secured inside the vehicles boot/trunk
• Plugged rear parcel shelves / rear firewalls for any vehicles using N2O
• All vehicles using Nitrous Oxide must display on the outside of the vehicle in the area where the bottle is located and the approved sticker. In addition the approved sticker is to be placed on the outside of the windscreen in the top left hand corner
• The approved sticker is yellow with N2O printed in black
• All competitors must follow all speed signs and officials directions at all times. Speed/burnouts are to be kept to their appropriate areas at all times. If you fail to obey the rules you will be asked to leave the premises.

  1. It is mandatory that all seats are firmly attached to the vehicle.
  2. All cars must have seat belts.
  3. No alcohol in the pit area.
  4. No static burnouts at all in any event
  5. All Passengers in the Entrant’s car MUST have an armband to be able
  6. to cruz the track. Signing a disclaimer when receiving armband will be
  7. Required.
  8. No glass to be brought onto the premises.
  9. No alcohol to be brought to the event


GARAGES:

  1. Your garages are to be kept clean at all times. The garages are not
  2. for camping in.
  3. On the conclusion of the event you will ensure that your garage is left in a clean state, this will be noted for any future events.
  4. You can leave all your gear in the garage on the Saturday night upon
  5. Leaving Calder Park. This is your responsibility NOT the Promoters.
  6. Security will be on hand at Calder Park throughout the Saturday night.
  7. Please supply your own pad lock for your pit Garage – Secure the roller door on leaving Calder Park on the Saturday night.


BEHAVIOUR:

  1. Unruly behavior by competitors or mates will not be tolerated.
  2. Entrants are responsible for their mates.


OFFICIALS:

  1. Competitors are instructed to obey any instructions or directions given by Officials.


PENALTIES:

  1. Failure to adhere to these rules will lead to a disciplinary action including entrant’s sticker removed and competing will be refused. In the event, entrant & crew may even be removed from


DRAG RACING - Dial your Own

  1. This event consists of a Dial your own format.
  2. There are 3 DYO Brackets – 9.999 secs and under, 10.000 secs – 12.999 secs, 13.000 secs and over
  3. Each bracket will have a sticker colour. Failure to be queued when sticker colour is called will result in disqualification
    Nitrous, supercharging or turbo charging permitted
  4. No time to re fuel or make a change, straight to the back of the line for another run.
  5. Evasion of your position in the queue will result in disqualification.
    No Pre Stage burnouts are to exceed past the Christmas Tree.
    All vehicles running 11.00 sec (1/4 mile) or slower are not required to have a roll cage fitted but may be fitted if you wish to do so.
  6. All vehicles running between 10.99 sec & 10.00 sec and under 140 mph (1/4 mile) must be fitted with a single roll over hoop.
  7. All racers must wear Safety Helmets when entering, racing and leaving the race track. Please wait until you have stopped your vehicle before removing your helmet. Safety Helmets must comply with the current Australian Standard. For those of you who do not possess a Safety Helmet, you may hire a helmet.


BURNOUTS

  1. There will be no crappy cars in this burnout event. You will see some tough cars hanging some mean burnouts. Entrants will get just one shot and 90 seconds to impress the crowd.
  2. Judges will be looking for instant smoke, doughnuts and tyre blowing.
  3. All cars to assemble (with driver) 15 minutes prior to commencing the burnouts.
    Cars to be turned out in a presentable fashion.
    NO static burnouts are allowed.
    Continuing to do burnouts on your rims will result in a penalty.
  4. Additional points will be awarded for blowing your tyre (s). After this, you need to STOP straight away.
    All Drivers are to STOP if they see a Black flag. If you do not stop, you will be disqualified.
    If you hit the wall you will be disqualified.
    All tyres are to be taken away by the Entrant and taken home.


SUPER STRAIGHT LINE BURNOUT

  1. This is a chance to show others how far you can spin the wheels in a straight line. Get the wheels spinning, jump off the brake and see how far down the track you can go.
    The Super Straight Line Burnout is all about showing off your vehicles horsepower and your ability to use the power to smoke the tyres for the longest distance while only using the brake pedal to keep the car under some sort of control.
    The judges will choose the most awesome display of horsepower, driver talent, engine revs, quantity and length of smoke
  2. NO Static Burnouts / No Donuts


GO TO WHOA

  1. Entrants need to combine skill off the start with the soft squeeze of the brake pedal to come to a complete stop on the finish line.
  2. Two cars will go head to head over an approx 100 meter sprint. The first car to stop on the line will go through to the next round.
  3. This will be a knockout competition until we have a winner.
  4. Failure to go straight back to the queue if you win your round in reasonable time will result in disqualification.
  5. If any entrant leaves the line before the flag has dropped will result in disqualification.


SUPERCRUZ - Family Session

  1. All Passengers in the Entrant’s car MUST have an armband to be able
  2. to cruz the track. Signing a disclaimer when receiving armband will be
  3. required.
  4. Speeds must be kept under 60 kmph
  5. No burnouts or doughnuts
  6. If a Black Flag is displayed you are to stop immediately and NOT proceed until directed by an official.
  7. If an orange flag is shown, slow down.
    During cruising no overtaking when approaching the barriers.
  8. No driver changes can be made AT ALL.
    All occupants must wear a seat belt, NO SEAT BELT NO CRUISING.
    Entrants must be ready to proceed onto the track when they are instructed to do so by an official.
  9. No entrant vehicles to enter the track once each session has commenced.
  10. There will be several cruise times, so you will not miss out.


SUPER CRUZ – Super Session

  1. All Passengers in the Entrant’s car MUST have an armband to be able
  2. to cruz the track. Signing a disclaimer when receiving armband will be
  3. required.
  4. All passengers must be 18 years or older
  5. All drivers and passengers must wear Helmets that meet Australian Safety Standards – helmets can be hired through Vic Supercruz $20 per helmet for the weekend.
  6. Speeds of up to 130 kmph can be achieved
  7. Short power burnouts, controlled sideways action out of corners will be tolerated. Anyone abusing this will be pulled off the track.
  8. No static burnouts or doughnuts
  9. If a Black Flag is displayed you are to stop immediately and NOT proceed until directed by an official.
  10. If an orange flag is shown, slow down.
    During cruising no overtaking when approaching the barriers.
  11. No driver changes can be made AT ALL.
    All occupants must wear a seat belt, NO SEAT BELT NO CRUISING.
    Entrants must be ready to proceed onto the track when they are instructed to do so by an official.
  12. No entrant vehicles to enter the track once each session has commenced.
  13. There will be several cruise times, so you will not miss out.


SHOW & SHINE

  1. See some of Victoria’s / Australia’s best cars on display. There will be some interstate cars contesting so come on Victoria lets see what class you can bring to the event. Prizes and trophies are up for grabs for individuals in classes.
  2. Judges decision will be final.
  3. To qualify each car must be on display for a minimum of 1 hour each day.
  4. You must register with the officials when the car starts and finishes the display.


DOUGHNUT CHALLENGE

  1. Drive 80 -  100 meters, do 2 doughnuts around the tyres and race back to stop on the finish line. This will be a timed event.

OPEN SESSION

  1. Each car will have around 1 minute in the pit for fun. Burnouts, Doughnuts and anything else you can do to please the crowd.
  2. Stupidity will not be tolerated.
